Holkham Shoreline

I'm delighted to have this painting 'Holkham Shoreline', accepted for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours Open Exhibition at the Mall Galleries, March 25th - April 11th.

New Year

At the start of a new year, I'd like to say a big thank you to all of you who have inspired, encouraged and supported me in my first year as a full time painter. I retired from garden designing a year ago to devote more time to painting & it's been a tremendous year.

Wishing you all a happy, creative, & successful New Year.

A Sense of Place

My exhibitions this year get underway with the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail collective show at The Pond Gallery, Snape Maltings, Thursday April 3rd - 9th. 'A Sense of Place' is an apt title for an exhibition in the wonderful setting of the maltings.

I also exhibit in The Gallery and Cafe 1885 at Snape.

Please join in The Pond Gallery for 'Meet the Artist' from 12noon on Sunday 6th April.

The Rhythm of Reeds

My watercolour exhibition, The Rhythm of Reeds, at The Snape Maltings Gallery, has got off to a flying start with eight paintings sold in two days. Needless to say, I'm delighted at the response.

The landscape paintings depict the Alde estuary that the Maltings overlook, as well as other local places such as Dunwich Heath, Minsmere & Blythburgh.

The exhibition continues until 10th October 2013. Do take a look if you can.

Harleston and Waveney Art Trail

With my second and even more successful Harleston and Waveney Art Trail now over, I'd like to thank all you visitors who made it such an interesting & enjoyable few weekends. Your feedback is hugely valuable to me & something that I miss when exhibiting through galleries.

The weather was not always inviting enough to tempt you to wander around the garden but at least you could enjoy it from the house.

I look forward to seeing some of you again when I start watercolour & drawing classes in the autumn  & the rest of you, plus lots of new faces, hopefully next year.

Welcome

Welcome to my new website & blog. If you'd like to know any more about a particular painting, please do contact me - comments & feedback are most welcome. All prices are for work mounted in acid free, off white mount board but framing can be arranged if preferred, particularly if you're local & able to collect.

I'll be blogging about my latest work, the inspiration behind it & the process from sketching & photographing in the field to interpreting the subject back in the studio.

I'm currently working towards opening my studio as part of the Harleston & Waveney Art Trail, so I hope you'll be able to visit if you don't live far away. Brochures will be in circulation very soon now. I have loads of new landscapes as well as pen & wash & bird drawings.
